Privacy Policy

Working draft for legal and operational review. This is not an approved or effective policy.

Effective date: To be completed after review

1. About this draft

PerkTrek LLC (“PerkTrek,” “we,” or “us”) operates the PerkTrek website and experience in Texas. This working draft explains the information the application is designed to process and the choices currently available. It requires legal and operational review before it can become effective.

2. Information we collect

When you use PerkTrek, we may process information you provide and information generated by your use of the service, including:

  • Account and authentication information: your email address and the account identifier associated with your magic-link sign-in. The current signup flow does not ask for a password, phone number, or date of birth.
  • Participation information: check-ins associated with your account, participating location, and time; trail and passport progress; achievements; and reward claims, codes, and status.
  • Messages you send us: information you choose to include when contacting PerkTrek or a participating business.
  • Technical information: the service or its providers may process information needed to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the website. The exact fields, sources, and retention of hosting and authentication logs must be confirmed with the providers before this draft is finalized.

PerkTrek does not request your date of birth in the current account flow. The early-access form on the home page is a disabled preview and says that it does not submit or store an address.

3. How information is used

Information may be used to:

  • send requested authentication links and maintain account access;
  • record check-ins and show trail, passport, and achievement progress;
  • create and display reward claims and codes;
  • operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and protect the service;
  • respond to questions, investigate reported reward issues, and coordinate with businesses where appropriate; and
  • meet applicable legal obligations.

The production data flows, purposes, and retention practices should be checked against the deployed Supabase and Vercel projects before publication.

4. Authentication and account information

The application uses Supabase Auth for email magic-link authentication. An email address is required to request a link. The login and account-creation experience currently use the same flow, so the application cannot reliably distinguish a new registration from an existing-user sign-in at that point.

5. Check-ins, trails, and rewards

Check-ins are associated in the application with an account and a location. The dashboard requests account-linked check-ins, trail and passport completions, achievements, and reward claims. Reward claim records include a reward code and status information. The repository does not establish production database fields, access policies, retention, or deletion behavior; those must be verified.

6. Service providers

The application code uses Supabase for authentication and database access and is configured for Vercel hosting. These providers may process information to operate their services. The exact production configuration, email-delivery provider, subprocessors, and any additional integrations cannot be confirmed from the local application code and must be reviewed before this list is final.

7. Participating businesses

The application displays public business names and participating location information. Businesses supply rewards. PerkTrek's intended approach is to share aggregate activity with businesses and only the minimum individual information needed to verify or fulfill a redemption. The repository does not verify that this access model is enforced by production database policies or redemption tooling. Information you choose to provide directly to a business is also subject to that business's practices.

8. Authentication and promotional communications

If you request a magic link, an authentication email is sent to the email address you provide. Promotional email and SMS messaging are planned but are not currently active in the application. We do not currently offer an in-product marketing opt-in, SMS signup, or unsubscribe feature. If promotional messaging is introduced, this draft and the relevant consent and unsubscribe processes must be reviewed and updated first.

9. Cookies, browser storage, and technical information

The Supabase browser client is initialized using its default configuration, which may use browser storage to maintain an authentication session. Hosting and authentication providers may also process technical information as part of delivering and protecting the service. No analytics or advertising integration was identified in the application code reviewed for this draft; production settings and provider logs have not been verified. Confirm the actual storage, cookie, logging, and third-party behavior before publication.

10. Data retention

The application repository does not establish specific retention periods or a production deletion schedule. Retention criteria, including backups and records that may need to be kept for legal, security, or operational reasons, require review. We do not promise a fixed deletion timeline in this draft.

11. Account deletion requests

You may submit an account deletion request by emailing support@perktrek.com. Requests will be reviewed and processed subject to applicable requirements. The initial request process is by email; an in-product deletion tool and a specific processing timeline are not currently provided in the application. How deletion affects associated progress, reward claims, and backups must be confirmed operationally.

12. Security

PerkTrek and its service providers may use measures to protect information, but the exact safeguards in the production environment have not been verified for this draft. No method of transmission or storage can be represented as guaranteed secure.

13. Adults-only eligibility

PerkTrek is intended only for people who are at least 18 years old. The current account flow asks the person to acknowledge this requirement and does not collect a date of birth. The acknowledgment is not an independent age-verification process, and the current application does not record it as a separate age-verification record.

14. Privacy rights

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have privacy rights regarding your information. To make a request or ask a question, contact support@perktrek.com. Any request will be reviewed and handled subject to applicable requirements. Specific response processes and timelines are not established by the application code and require operational review.

15. Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy as the service changes. Before this draft is approved, PerkTrek should determine how material updates will be communicated and add the effective date of the approved version here.

16. Contact

Privacy and account requests: support@perktrek.com. Business partnership inquiries: partners@perktrek.com.

Review before publication: confirm the production schema and RLS policies, provider/subprocessor list, email delivery and logging, browser storage and cookies, retention and deletion procedures, and applicable privacy-rights handling. No claim of complete legal compliance is made by this working draft.
